Getting Manhunt to run in Windows Vista

RockStar Manhunt

Many people have tried to run Manhunt on Windows Vista but without any luck, through a fair ammount of Googling in the past, I came across this fix…

Step 1:
Download XVI32 from http://www.chmaas.handshake.de/delphi/freeware/xvi32/xvi32.htm

Step 2:
Back up your manhunt.exe file

Step 3:
Open manhunt.exe in XVI32

Step 4:
From the addreess tab at the top, select “Goto”
Select the hexedecimal option and set the go mode to “Absolute”

Step 5:
In the Goto box, enter in 08DE

Step 6:
If all above went well, you should see a box highlighted containing 6A,
modify this so that it says 2A.

Step 7:
Save the file and exit the editor.

Step 8:
Play.

Thanks to Sonnilivo for the great information relating to this!

  1. Hey friend, when I finished the hexedecimal and the go mode thing, I typed in the 08DE at the small space which you first see the $ sign and I clicked on ‘OK’. and this highlighted box came with [00], there was no 6A. But I changed the [00] to 2A and saved it but it is still not working. I am using Vista Home Premium.

  2. Hi Owusu,

Are you using the Retail version or the Steam version of the game? its the only difference I can think of at the moment.

  3. Hi Gues7,

I have ignored the use of this version. I downloaded Manhunt 2 and and installed it. There was this key activation when I opened the Manhunt 2.exe file so they added the crack to it and I copy and pasted the crack to the Manhunt 2 destination folder, after I have done this, I wanted to play it so I clicked on the Manhunt 2.exe file but couldn’t open. I have also reinstalled it several times but still not opening. I can’t still play it and I am very sad about this.

I use Windows Vista Home Premium and my processor is Duo-core, I don’t know if it is because of that but I checked that whether the game is compatible for Vista and it is.
